The 10-Transformer 4+1/4+1 Claim Was Struck, Not the Unit Count

Ten transformers appear twice in the Gate 1 record, and neither appearance may be ordered. What the architecture gate struck off was not a transformer count. It was a claim attached to one: ten units arranged four plus one on each side, described as giving either lettered path the ability to carry the full computing load [TARGET]. The count itself survives a few rows away in the same later table, as the cost comparator: ten transformers, eight uninterruptible units, catcher topology. Deleting the arrangement therefore removed an availability statement and left the number in circulation, which is the harder half to police.

The Gate Struck Four Capability Claims, Not Four Counts

Four simplifications are listed together as not to be adopted [TARGET]:

• ten units on a four-plus-one split, described as giving either path the full load;
• a stated battery energy, described as supporting both paths for ten minutes each;
• a single surviving feeder, assumed by default to carry the whole plant;
• utility supply and on-site generation, described as running in parallel without the permission that would allow it.

Every one of the four is a sentence about capability rather than a quantity. The gate is not rejecting ten transformers, or that battery energy, or one feeder. It is rejecting four statements about what those things can do, and its own heading calls them expressions already excluded rather than options still open.

The later closure table lists the negatives as freezable: two feeders from one substation are not independent dual utility; uninterruptible supply is sized on protected load, not on the billable computing figure; the nine-unit form of the distributed route cannot make protected load after one system exits, as an earlier entry already records.

Ten Units Survive Only as a Cost Comparator

The red-team closure table keeps a ten-transformer, eight-unit configuration as the third of three study topologies and gives it one function: cost comparison. The same table records that it fails when the catcher is occupied, when a transfer refuses, and when two working blocks fail together, and its verdict column refuses it as a primary topology for a service-level commitment. Ten units are therefore a live figure with a written boundary, sitting close to a deleted package that used the same figure with no boundary at all. The surviving arrangement is eight critical plus two mechanical. It is not four plus one on each side.

The two routes the gate does admit both carry higher counts. The strict-redundancy route is written with six units a path and twelve in total, rising to fourteen if module-level redundancy is also required on each path; the distributed route is written with nine, rising to twelve on the same condition, and the gate notes in the same breath that its auxiliary and continuous-load factors are still to be folded in [TARGET]. Ten sits below both, which is what makes the struck sentence attractive and what makes the comparator worth keeping. The nine-unit form was later killed on arithmetic, cited from an earlier entry and not re-derived: after one system exits, each remaining set needs more than six megawatts and three two-megawatt modules are six.

So the decision this lands on is documentary rather than electrical. Whoever copies the comparator forward has to copy its three named failure modes with it, and the struck package is the demonstration of what the same count looks like once they are dropped. The number is identical in both places. The difference is entirely in the arrangement and in the sentence attached to it.

No Equipment Quantity May Be Ordered From This Record

No transformer, uninterruptible supply, battery, generator or switchgear quantity is frozen by this record, and none may be ordered from a manufacturer while the principal design is still to be compared against the gate item by item. The closure table repeats the bar against the study figures and against the assumed derating, efficiency and auxiliary-load values underneath them. A per-unit transformer price does exist in the shared record, and the same line states that price does not determine quantity.

The gate then lists the evidence its own decision needs, and the first item is not a calculation. It asks whether the customer requires each lettered path to be a complete uninterruptible path in its own right, or accepts distributed redundancy judged on continuity of computing instances. The second and third items are a pairing matrix and a set of supplier curves and timings; only the first is a commercial answer, and it governs the other two.

That first item has no owner in the record. Nothing names the party who will put the question to the customer, no reply is recorded as received, and the enquiry package that would carry it is not identified here either. The struck package was removed because the claim attached to its count was wrong; the claim that would replace it is not wrong, it is simply absent, and an absent claim leaves the count exactly where the deleted one left it.
