What a GB300 NVL72 Deployment Demands of a Data Center Building
Most GB300 coverage stops at the chip. This page works the other direction: what the rack does to the building — power paths, coolant loops, floor structure, hall fabric — documented in a free, coordinated electrical + structural + network reference drawing set.

The Rack Duty: 136 kW, Dual-Feed, Fully Liquid-Cooled
GB300 NVL72 is NVIDIA’s rack-scale system: 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Grace CPUs integrated as one liquid-cooled rack, with published per-rack power on the order of 135–150 kW. (GB300 is a product of NVIDIA Corporation; K&K Data Service Inc. is not affiliated with NVIDIA, and every figure must be verified against the OEM’s current rack data.) The reference design documented on this site uses a design basis of 136 kW per rack with A/B dual electrical input and direct liquid cooling — the duty class a building must actually carry to host GB300-class systems. That single number drives everything below: a GB300-class rack draws roughly ten times the power of a conventional enterprise rack and weighs around 1.4 tonnes.
Electrical: 42-Rack Zones on Independent Power Paths
At 136 kW per rack, a 42-rack GPU hall zone is roughly a 5.7 MW electrical block — the size of a whole traditional data center. The electrical reference design serves each zone over independent radial paths, each path carrying its own 2500 kVA transformer (12.47 kV to 480Y/277 V), automatic transfer switch and 2 MW UPS block, with generator feeder interfaces at the medium-voltage level. The 88-page drawing book carries the full single-line diagrams, transformer and fuse details, grounding and buried-crossing interfaces; the reasoning is in the electrical architecture cluster.
Cooling: The Electrical–Liquid Interface
GB300-class systems are liquid-cooled by design; the building’s job is the coolant loop: CDU capacity and placement, coolant distribution to the rack rows, and protected electrical feeds for the cooling plant itself. The direct liquid cooling and CDU cluster and the hydraulics cluster document the design analysis; the equipment plans in the structural set show CDU positions along the hall.
Structure: ~1.4 Tonnes per Rack, Row After Row
Dense liquid-cooled racks change the structural problem: floor loading from ~1.4 t racks in continuous rows, overhead services, and the steel building system that carries both. The 170-page structural set publishes the design basis and parameters, the prefabricated steel building drawings, and the full technical specification.
Network: The Hall Fabric
The 58-page network reference design defines the GPU cluster topology, cabling architecture and interface definitions for the hall — the third discipline that has to agree with the electrical and structural drawings, because cable pathways, hall dimensions and rack rows are one coordinated layout.

Common Questions
How much power does a GB300 NVL72 rack draw?
Published figures for GB300 NVL72 rack-scale systems are on the order of 135–150 kW per rack, fully liquid cooled. The reference design on this site uses a 136 kW-per-rack, A/B dual-input design basis. Always verify against NVIDIA's and your OEM's current rack data.
Can an existing air-cooled data center host GB300 NVL72 racks?
Not as-is at this density: GB300-class systems are liquid-cooled by design, so a hall needs coolant distribution, CDU capacity, dense dual-feed electrical paths and floor structure for ~1.4 t racks. The drawing set documents what that actually requires across electrical, structural and network disciplines.
Are these drawings NVIDIA-approved or NVIDIA-affiliated?
No. K&K Data Service Inc. is not affiliated with NVIDIA Corporation. These are independent reference designs for a facility intended to carry GB300-class rack duty, published for study and evaluation; every interface must be verified against the OEM's current specifications.
Where do I download the full drawing set?
From the downloads page on this site: the 88-page electrical drawing book, the 170-page structural set, the 58-page network reference design, or all three as one ZIP — direct PDF downloads with published SHA-256 checksums, no registration.
